As the silhouette of desert dissolved in the twilight

The night symphony of cicadas unveiled

In fact spiky

Misty mountain road

I drove through pockets of invisibility

Where the fog was thickest

Only to glimpse on bloated roos glittering frost

Budding flowers in the late autumn

Snowflakes from last winter

Perched on moonlit boughs

Early arrival?

Emerging blossums from the far north

In a distant fruiting tree

A currawong laughed and flew away

Lab accident

Blood-stained labcoat

Cherry blossoms sliced by glassy wind

Fallen onto winter snow
